Exemption from teaching
Cluster funding can be used to a larger extent than other forms of funding to support research projects of professors and assistants in the means of an exemption from teaching. Languages of Emotion supports this effective way to spur on research. It is expected, though, that partially or fully exempted colleagues participate in the events and presentations of the cluster, presenting their project at least once in the course of the funding period.
In order to provide the continuity of both research and teaching, a 50%-exemption from teaching is usually financed for two or three terms at the most. In case of an extention of the project for an additional third year, further 50%-exemption for another term or two might be accorded.
Please note that the acceptance of a full project is necessary for any exemption from teaching; however it is no sufficient qualification. The according application needs to be declared under article 8c following article 1 in the main application.
