"The Empathic Mind"

4th Scientific Meeting for Autism Spectrum Conditions (WTAS)

For the first time, the 4th Scientific Meeting for Autism Spectrum Conditions (WTAS) takes place in Berlin. Between the 24th and 25th of February, the meeting focusses on "The Empathic Mind", introducing the work of national and international scientists. In talks, poster presentations and workshops current research on autism in the fields of neuropsychology, diagnostics, intervention, neuroimaging and genetics will be presented.

At the 4th WTAS, the Kanner-Asperger-Medal is awarded for the first time, with which outstanding achievements of national and international researchers working in the autism field are recognized.This years awardee is Catherine Lord, who is the Director of the University of Michigan Autism and Communication Disorders Center (UMACC) and a professor of psychology, psychiatry and pediatrics.
