In addition to the research projects the following research foci have been established:

Empirical Media Aesthetics

Prof. Dr. Hermann Kappelhoff

"Empirical Media Aesthetics" is a research focus on questions about aesthetics and the effects of audio-visual media. Four subject areas are currently analyzed. These are: "The mobilization of emotions in war films," "Genre cinema and corporate feeling," "Multimodal metaphor" and "Dynamics of affecting".
